DSP flight 30 from Newark (EWR) to Boston (BOS) with 12 crew and 200 passengers.
Non-precision instrument approach to 9191 ft long RW 15R. Too high approach speed due to malfunction of the AT/SC system. Touched down 2800 ft past the threshold. The RW was ice-covered and breaking friction was very poor. The crew saw they could not stop in time and steard the aircraft to the left of the runway to avoid the approach light pier. The aircraft came to a stop in shallow water of Boston Harbor 250 ft past the RW end and 110 ft to the left of the centreline.
